This was a bit of a surprise but just a block from the Airbnb that we stayed at in Kota Kinabalu was this place called Tiya Spa. It’s literally right across IMAGO shopping mall and part of KK Times Square.
The setting is super clean and tidy, and all of the therapists are Thai. Besides Thai massages, they also offer lomi-lomi massages inspired by Bali, which uses more of the entire forearm to glide across your muscles. You can choose from oil and no-oil treatments, and they also have the herbal ball.
The massages were SO good, I would even say that they beat out some of the ones I’ve had in Thailand and Bali. Their technique was spot-on, pressure was strong and the prices can’t be beat (around RM 118 for 90 mins; not the cheapest you can get in KK but way more affordable than HK).
We liked it so much we went two days in a row—definitely check it out if you are in KK.
