On my last visit to Bali during Chinese New Year (when it rained for 7 days in a row — hint: never go during monsoon season), I discovered a cute lil cafe just across the street from the Potato Head.
Called The Fat Turtle, the cafe is on the small side and super cosy, with exposed brick walls, turtle murals and a hip, industrial decor. There’s even a few seats outside if you can brave the heat.
On the menu are plenty of sweet treats, like fluffy stacks of red velvet pancakes, green tea churros, brunch staples and great coffee.
I tried a super flavourful smoked cod spaghetti with a creamy soy flat white — look how cute the sugar pots look in their cosies (you can even buy them at the till). The eggs benny was also quite solid as you can see from the pics.
